The Arizona Senate Committee on Retirement and Rural Development approved a strike-all amendment to Senate Bill 1352 effectively voting to ban photo radar in Arizona. The language of the amendment is identical to a bill introduced earlier this year in the House which had languished without final approval. Arizona legislators are hearing from constituents and the news for photo radar companies is not good. There has been a public outcry that has reached the state capital and today’s vote shows that drivers are being heard. The ban, if approved, would become effective in 2010.
Camerafraud.com has been gathering signatures for its initiative to put the issue to a public vote. The group would like to see the cameras come down.
